Wound Care May Matter More than the Antibiotics Used

“The most important part is good wound care...Antibiotics are probably not as important as we think... but we need larger studies to answer that question.” In this case, I'd support additional research. It seems vitally important to know how to avoid drug use.

Big Deal? Nitroglycerin may prevent osteoporosis

I'm in no way trying to stifle research or innovation. I would like researchers to think - just a little - before they run out and investigate something that is fairly well understood. Nitroglycerin has been use for decades and it's effects are well know. I doesn't take a roomful of Ph.D.s to realize that increased blood flow could help rebuild tissue. It also doesn't take a lot of investigation to KNOW that side effects from nitroglycerin can be horrific.

Try substituting water if you find yourself wanting more than one can a day

Dr. Victor Marchione claims that "...those who drank diet soda daily were 61% more likely to have a heart event." The overall chance that you will have a heart attack is about 0.1% (1 in 1,000). A 61% increase in risk moves the odds to 1.61 in 1,000. How does that strike you?

I estimate that over half of the businesses I LIKE on Facebook talk about themselves - 100% of the time. I expect something more than just a another dose of advertising. I'd like to stay in touch, but I sure don't look forward to having their ads clutter my Facebook page. http://amplify.com/u/brwqx

Does anyone have uncomfortable "feelings" about a drug maker who changes the ingredients in a product, yet retains the "old" name? Do the drug makers think everyone is too stupid to know that there's been a switch?I am struck by this cavalier approach today because I read an article about Sudafed (phenylephrine). That isn't the only "switcheroo" in the market, just the most recent to come to my attention. http://amplify.com/u/brtwr

A side effects saga

Jenny Thompson explains how a common non-prescription DRUG darned near did her in. ALWAYS REMEMBER: ** There's Poison in Every Potion **

EVERYBODY - STOP EXHALING or LEAVE http://amplify.com/u/brr2b

EVERYBODY - STOP EXHALING or LEAVE

Carbon Dioxide is the dominant "greenhouse gas" . It comes out of all mammals when we exhale. We can help reduce those dastardly gases by not exhaling. It would also help if all mammals would leave earth - ASAP. Come to think of it, failing to exhale WILL cause mammals to leave earth - in the most permanent way.

Bone Drugs May Increase Leg Fractures

Well, this is NO SURPRISE. I've been warning people about this for over a decade. I'm GLAD the FDA is taking action, but unhappy that they have taken so long. How much harms has been done while "they" deliberated? Like vaccines, neither the drug makers nor the government can be taken to court over these problems.

Illinois will end all drug treatment funding

How do you feel about this? Do the current programs work? Are they cost effective? Are they duplicated in other programs? Will this decision help or hinder the drug issues in Illinois?

This goes into effect on March 15, 2011 - The Ides of March.

Supreme Court shields vaccine makers from lawsuits

Compensation may still be available to injured parties. However, they cannot file lawsuits against the drug makers. To do otherwise would open the door for additional legal action against the FDA and, ultimately, the Federal Government. And, we can't have that, can we.

Naltrexone for Autoimmune Diseases? - Dr. Weil

Inch by inch. Row by row. That's how the use of LDN will grow.

I am always glad when I read that a prominent doctor has an open mind. Dr. Weil does not directly advocate for LDN, but his published comments leave the door wide open. If YOUR doctor has question/concerns about LDN, he/she can contact me. I can help them help you.

Daily Aspirin AND a Daily PPI? http://lat.ms/fTs5X0,0,7018238.story

Daily Aspirin AND a Daily PPI?

How is this supposed to work? First, some bright medical folks tell us to take an aspirin every day. But, that causes internal bleeding - which MIGHT be a problem in the long haul. So, here is a story about some other geniuses offering a suggestion. TAKE ANOTHER DRUG (a PPI - Proton Pump Inhibitor) to "possibly" compensate for the negative effects of the first drug (the aspirin).

Package labeling for PPIs generally warn that the drug should be taken for no more that 2 weeks at a time. Is this suggested dual drug use more important than the approved package labeling? Are the PPI drugs made safer when they are used to prevent bleeding caused by aspirin? Is this just a joke? Does anybody really know what's going on?

The final answer in "today's medical world" is TAKE MORE DRUGS.

Take a few minutes to read this. It's a breath of fresh air in a world stale from surgeries, radiation burns, and chemotherapy. http://on.fb.me/hZgFGe http://bit.ly/hKxGJu

Eggs tested by USDA have lower cholesterol and more vitamin D than previously thought

This happens often. One firmly held belief upended by some new evidence or a recent study. Makes one wonder if there's really anything we CAN believe - especially when it originates from our government..
